Hello,
Today, we will be talking about the Experimenter’s Bias 🧪.
What is it?
Also known as the Observer-expectancy effect, The following bias occurs when you receive an expected output for an experiment you performed.
Example -
Marketers tend to perform variety of experiments by implementing strategies related to their customer behaviour or anything for the profit-purposes. They are very likely to be biased beforehand regarding them.
Where does it occur?
Marketers, Brokers, Entrepreneurs etc. are the type of people who are used to taking small risks. These are basically the experiments regarding something in nature.
That’s where you can expect them to be a little biased.
Why do I need to know?
The approach of “It worked for their audience, I should try it too” is something you need to be aware of.
Research what your audience is all about and unlearn before committing the experiment.
Takeaways:-
Accept the fact that you may be biased for an output before performing an experiment.
Unlearn before the experiment.
