Reader,
Did you see the trailer to the new Creed movie yet? Itโs coming in March.
In this edition, I am covering the psychology breakdown for the first one!
[Experiment] Whatโd you think about these Movie Psychology Breakdowns?
๐ฌ Movie:- Creed
โCreed" is a sports drama film franchise that follows the story of Adonis Creed, the son of former heavyweight champion Apollo Creed.
In "Creed," Adonis Creed is a young man who is determined to make a name for himself as a boxer and follow in the footsteps of his father, Apollo Creed, who was a former heavyweight champion.
Adonis faces a number of challenges and setbacks as he tries to establish himself in the boxing world, including doubts about his own abilities and resistance from those who do not believe in him.
Throughout the film, Adonis's confidence and determination serve as driving forces that help him overcome these challenges and achieve his goals. However, his confidence and determination can also be seen as a form of confirmation bias, as he is resistant to considering alternative viewpoints or evidence that challenges his beliefs.
He is anchored to his initial belief that he can become a successful boxer, and this belief becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as he works hard and eventually achieves his goal.
To summarise, there are a few psychological biases that are depicted:
Self-fulfilling prophecy: Adonis's belief that he can become a successful boxer becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, as his determination and hard work allow him to overcome challenges and achieve his goal.
Cognitive dissonance: As Adonis experiences challenges and setbacks in his boxing career, he experiences cognitive dissonance, or the psychological discomfort that occurs when one's beliefs and actions are in conflict. He is forced to confront his own biases and reassess his beliefs about his own abilities.
