This paper explores the efficacy of a novel therapeutic technique called "Guided Dreaming" in reducing stress and promoting problem-solving.
Guided Dreaming involves inducing a waking dream state through breathwork and visualization, specifically guided by imagery of an underwater octopus transforming into a healing bubble of light.
This unique approach combines elements of dream science, psychology, and traditional dreamwork practices.
Major Findings:
Vivid waking dreams and positive emotions: All ten participants in the study reported experiencing vivid waking dreams with unique symbolic content and positive emotions after a single Guided Dreaming group session.
Stress reduction and problem-solving insights: Nine out of ten participants reported feeling less stressed and gaining insights into solving personal or professional problems they had brought into the session.
Improved mental outlook: On average, participants' self-assessed mental outlook significantly improved after the session, indicating a positive shift in their overall well-being.
Safe and accessible: Guided Dreaming was perceived as safe by most participants and is easily accessible through virtual platforms, requiring no prior experience or training.
