Cool but . . . does this imply . . . similar actions that end up helping the dogs could help humans with anxiety?

Unfortunately, that's not true in most of the cases. Just because A leads to B, doesn't mean B also leads to A.

Hopefully, such similar researches happen in future and may answer the question.

Good question. While this is study highlights the findings for dog-owners such as separation anxiety, the fact that "oxytocin" has the potential to be a utilised for treatement is a positive sign.

Oxytocin is also referred to as "happy hormone" along with Serotonin and Dopamine. Spending time with a pet dog can severely impact one's oxytocin levels. (https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/the-friend-who-keeps-you-young)
